![]() What say you? Is a C240 from 2003 in that sort of condition, in that price range, from a non-benz dealer a decent option for a first time Benz buyer and first time luxury car buyer? ![]() So to wind up a long winded post and plea for guidance: It's at a very small dealership that doesn't specialize in these vehicles so that makes me a bit nervous about that find. I've found one 2001 E320 with 78K miles for 9.5K (don't have any history on it). This is the first Mercedes I've found in my price range and overall I was impressed before reading some of the nightmare reviews from various sources. after reading on here some of the problems people have had it makes me a bit nervous about this year and model, but then I don't think the "newer/more reliable" models are in my price range. Other than the price - I'm worried about the potential for electrical gremlins and transmission problems, MAF problems, etc. Not surprising for a dealer to stretch the truth, but don't they think folks will go look it up for themselves? Is this too pricey for the model/year/mileage? The dealership told me the Blue Book for it is 16K, when I do it online it tells me it's 14.4K in excellent condition. I'm not sure what might happen if I have them check out this one with a lower price tag AND lower mileage. Here's a catch, they have the exact model/year but with 90K miles asking roughly 1K more than this vehicle. I am going to check with a local import dealership if they would check the car over (there is no local MB dealership ). I am not sure what kind of warranty they offer (Extremely important in my mind!). This is at a rather large dealership, though. Then auctioned and likely bought by the present dealer that has it now.Īutocheck Score = 93 (whatever that means?) Then owned by a private owner until July 08 for approx 12K miles (apparently from an auction sale? It's a bit confusing in the report) Leased for the first 4 years and 42+K miles Out the door asking price $14.5K before warranty ![]() Here is some info about the car I've been eyeballing: ![]() I'm excited to take the plunge into the realm of luxury but. ![]()
